Bashi Bazouk
« on: March 22, 2010, 12:37:07 AM »
Hi,

does anybody have ideas which figures (28mm) could be used as dismounted Bashi Bazouks?

The ones from Perry are nice, but I´m looking for more minis.

Thank you!!!

Eureka have a selection of 'Turkish' pirates that would fit the bill nicely.

Redoubt do some, but they will probably tower over your Perry boys.

Check out Brigade Games new range for Napoleon in Egypt. Those Mamelukes will fit quite nicely. If you browse through the Old Glory ranges you will also find lots of figures that will do, if you can accept 30 figure bags...

Doesn't Perry make dismounted versions in their Sudan range?  Also, if you can use "true" 25mm, Ral Partha has both mounted and dismounted as well.

Guys,  if you read his post you will see he already knows about the Perry ones. He's looking for other ones, presumably he wants more poses.

The Ottoman light cavalry in Old Glory's ranges is nice for this purpose, BUT I don't remember if there are dismounted versions.  I may go take a look.

What I did was to convert extra copies of the Perry dismounted BB figures.  I gave some of them different weapons, did plenty of head-swaps, and a couple were handed banner poles.  I'm very happy with the simple conversions.

Any Bashi painting guides?  I'm looking at my new figures, and am quite frankly lost.
