Brushes - Help!
« on: March 29, 2010, 09:26:06 AM »
Hi!

What kind of brushes do you use for your miniature painting?

I´m using Games Workshop brushes but they are worthless when it comes to painting faces and uniform details.  :?

I use W&N no 7. They are much more distinguished, elegant and overall superior to the Rosemary brand.*)

For very fine detail I use the Series 7 Miniatures range (miniatures as in watercolour miniatures), They have shorter hair which comes to a point closer to the ferrule. This give you to some degree better control.

*) Just messing with you,folks...

I just use GW.

An artist never blames his tools!  ;)

It's just coincidental that Hammers, Blood and Orctrader are good painters. As for Dodge, I can't recall his stuff, so I couldn't comment!

It really depends on how much money you want to part with.

On that topic... where can I get decently priced W&N over the interwebz? I bought a few on a whim some years ago at an art supply store. About 15 quid for a 0... heh.

They are less than half of that at Ken Bromlesy's artsupply where I got mine:
