1/56 Russian Gaz Vodnik
« on: 05 April 2010, 07:46:28 PM »

Made this over the weekend...not sure what possessed me to want one so bad...
I'm wondering if there is much interest in a vehicle like this. (Yes, it will have turrets!)

So it may be a short run type model, or it may make it's way into the company B moderns lineup.  If folks are interested, which sort of turrets and back modules would you all want?  I think this thing has 100's of configurations in the real world.

Hi, I'm just getting started with Modern Russians, and this vehicle doesn't ring a bell.  So naturally as a standard wargamer I would need two or three to go with my Chieftain Models T-72's and BTR's (IIRC Sloppy Jalopy). It looks like a good opponent for my Strykers (Co B)!

PS: So is the 105mm Stryker good to go?
They call me "Point Cow"

A quick search brings plenty of images of this truck.  It's able to traverse water (floats!) and seemingly may be something you'd see all over the world in a multitude of police forces and militaries.  If anyone has better information, please share!

It can mount some pretty heavy weapons/BTR turrets.  Its something that is just recently been fielded.

in answer to the other question..the MGS is looking to be available end of May/early June.  More pics on that in the next few weeks as I finish it.

Vodnik performs the same role as the humvee in the U.S. Army.
The main differences are:
1) Can Swim
2) Has a modular system. Within an hour the front and rear module can be replaced if necessary. What adds a tactical flexibility in use.

3) more armored than a humvee.

Began flowing to the troops in the late nineties. Used in Chechnya and Ossetia
It has a large number of modifications, including recon, support, medical and other options. Also has a lot of civilian models.

And couple of photos:

For a second there I thought you were building the secret Urban Assault Vehicle from that Bill Murray movie, "Stripes"... lol

Looks like a great piece of kit. I know my zombie survivors would love to get their hands on one of those..

I'd be interested in a couple of those, for either a zombie or Dr Who scenario. :-)

I'd buy a couple, maybe more, depending on price :D

would be great as a modular thing, where you could rearrange the vehicle between games=)
swappable rear bits etc :)

More updates..

I thought it was too tall, so I removed about 1/8 inch from the roof on down.  It looks more squat now. A few more details added as well.

Just need to do the metal bits, small details and headlights..

Once I get a first cast, I'll mod that to be a new modular master for future builds.  This one will be sort of a test the waters deal.

Price...around $30.  It will have two alternate turrets you can use.

Some inquiries have come in on providing some other Soviet kit.

Would folks be interested in a BTR 152?
