year 1754 April
Capt. Dumas at Presque Isle is arragging various war parties to harasse villages south of the Ohio frontier and put the British colonies under terror.

from the village of Kittanning a war party under the command of M. Daniel-marie d'Iberville-Rochefort ( aka La Verdure ) is ready to move.

His target is a little village of Huntingdon at the head of the Juniata Valley.

moving through the vast forest is really dangerous


portage are very common





On the 1oth may the war party reached the Juniata Valley.


After a rest for checking weapons and equipments the raiders wait for the early morning to delivered the attack.

News of the war party has reached the village of Huntingdon by a friendly Indian, but M. d'Iberville has arranged a clever and simple plan, with his 2nd in CC Hertel approaching the village from south to the less protect part of the village.




the villagers fought bravely and shoot deadley (?)






but the Hertel group bring unspected surprise from the south side and change the battle in a massacre





the village was burnt and many villagers were taken prisoners.

the battle was a solo game , that is part of a campaign.
the first photos are from my battles record, second part are from the battle played over the week end.
Rule used is TSATF , version In the Forest plus modifications made by me.
it was a pleasant game , with the Americans very unlucky with dice through, which bring the battle in a easy victory for the french side.

my campaign game bring me north, around the shore of Lac Des Indiens ( also known as Lake Champlain ) ,
during a terrible winter,a mission for few bushfighters  .....little anticipation,

Wonderful game and presentation Piero. Those winter firgures are beautiful! Somehow I managed to evade the war party as they passed through my neighborhood.
