First SA Game Report (four players)
« on: 26 April 2010, 09:13:01 PM »
Hi this is my first game report of any kind so please bear with me…

Our group played SA for the first time over the Easter break and it was good fun. As there were four of us we played it teams of tow, like doubles pool: A(Threshold )-B(Lurker)-C(Threshold) -D(Lurker) and then again.

Because of available models one group from each side had 17 points rather than the standard 15.

The scenario was a fight with the Lurkers pinned down in their shack

The Threshold Groups

Dr El Hadir’s Boys (Omar Sheriff, The Dr and Ali Kemal)

SA3

Col Wutherington-Smythe’s advanced party (The Col., ‘ “Dynamite“ Dan Dillenger, Mr Huntington (Civilian) and Smudger)

SA1

The Cultists and a Friend

SA10
SA9

The table

SA5

Round one general movement and positioning, nothing amazing but Omar takes a risk avoid covering like the plauge while Ali plays peek-a-boo Somehow Omar surives!

Sa11

Round two and there is no messing from the Doctor and his boys! Omar hit’s the dirt!

Mr Huntington bravely (foolishly) closes from the other side

Sa12
Sa13

The Shambler bursts out at Omar and his boys all fail their Res roll, Ali’ tight boots keep him sane!

Sa14
Sa15

Round three and the cutlists start falling as the Thershold characters close I

Sa16

Round four is a standoff

Round five

The Shambler tears Ali apart

Doc Ali fells another cultist, the rest hide like cowards!

Sa18

Round six and Smudger downs another cultist with his hollow tips! However he then makes the fatal error of going for the Shambler which tears through him and goes for the Col.

Mr Huntington is wasted by cult leader after dodging the Tommy Gun cultist (naturally called Tommy Gunn)

SA19

Round 7 and 8

Tommy Gunn wastes the Doc and its nearly all over as Dynamite Dan fluffs his big chance!

Round 9 and 10

The Shambler mops up!

Sorry for the lack of wrap up photos but in the tick of the game the photos dried up!

All in all a great game and a lot of fun. The Threshold managed to reduce the Shambler to one wound but no further, however they took five cultists out!

Post Script
The Doctor made a full recovery as did his two boys!

The Col. Came out of it alive, but Smudger paid the ultimate price along with Mr Huntington. Dan can’t seem to remember what happened after that bump on the head as he fled from the Shambler (sometimes amnesia is a blessing in disguise!)

Newt time I promise a better story and pics!

Good report Agent! Also, nice idea to run a multi-player like doubles pool!

The Shambler is probably the best-painted one I've seen !   His eyes are EXTREMELY spooky !   Could we get a close-up shot so I could adopt the same technique??

Pretty dang fine first effort for a game report !!

It was painted by Mark Dixon, here's a link to his amazing stuff: http://www.artwho9figurepainting.co.uk/
The shambler: http://www.artwho9figurepainting.co.uk/RAFM%20MINIATURE%20DIMENSION%20SHAMBLER%202.htm
For more close ups I can't remember if the fig is in France or the UK I'll have a look.

The fence I bought 3 for a pound years ago at Selwig!
