@arthiraz: just send me one and I'll paint it ;-)

I'm glad you like them. I am not satisfied with the shirt of Dr. Klomp, looks a little odd. But I am too lazy to paint it again. :-)

White is a difficult color to shade.

Excellent work Zoogla!

Too many painters on here with excellent work. I really need to get in touch with my inner German.

Thanks for the comments.
Hammershield, you are right, white is a quite difficult colour to shade right. Sometimes it just works out and looks really good and other times (see Klomp for instance) it just wouldn't.
I use the Foundry Paintset but I sometimes think the first shade is a bit too dark.
So any suggestions for shading white?
come on guys!

Z.

*Sigh...*
Well, this is what I do but that I am rarely fully satisifed with:
*on display models I use as many as 6 or 8 layers going from a quite dark blue grey or ochre tan to pure white. The trick is to keep the deep shadows VERY limited and thin.
*on "utility" miniatures I base them in dark blue grey and use a couple of hilight greys finishing with pure white. Then, where necessary, I overpaint shadows I am not wholy satisifed with with a much dilluted pure white. This tends to look a bit dirty but mostly OK. It wont win you any prices though.

I have the reversed problem with black which needs the least of hilites. I tend to overdo the highlites.

i use the foundry paints 3 color white, but tend to mix a bit of the B white into shade A for the first coat and the same before i apply the C coat, i mox some B into the C so its 5 shades rather than 3, also water them down as it seems to work better.hope this makes sense!  :?

Yeah, I understand majorsmith, I used the same 5 shades instead of the three for this Grey Knight Terminator:

It worked out quite good on this one I think. Have to practice more more more!
Ok, I am off to the painting table stripping Dr. Klomp
