Measures 20mm to the eye.

Lots of pics as experimenting with new camera etc at the moment.

Aside from that C+C welcome.

Thanks

Quite nice, Whiff. The butt crack is a bit large, but hey, you can always sell a few more with comedy;)

Seriously, nice work. I think it's less a racial stereotype and more anatomically correct, which is a nice change as far as pygmies go.

Too right. I don't know why sculptors seem to fall back on a 1940s stereotype cartoon negro when it comes to pygmies. It wouldn't be acceptable with any other kind of figure, but with pygmies, you can be as old-school racist as you like, it would seem.

I like him, though as already stated, that arse crack looks rather painful. What has he been stuffing up there?  :)

Looks good to me...

Perhaps the feet are a little to big for my taste: he looks like a hobbit-shaman...

I think that has to be your best work yet WW,

Bravo Sir!

Isn't that what fantasy pygmies are? Afro-Hobbits?

Some time ago I purchased several Pygmies from a non-US vendor who will go unnamed. When I got them in the flesh, the sculpts were nice, but the faces looked just like one of those turn of the century sketches with gigantic lips and other exaggerated features. As many of my gaming friends were of African descent at the time, I was a little embarassed, so I used some greenstuff to do up some tribal masks for them. Improved them loads, but a huge pain in the butt.

This fellow looks the part, though, Whiff. Hope you plan on doing more.

And it does appear he "fell" onto a bowling trophy or broom handle a few too many times;)

I always thought the Kallistra ones were okay. GW's old ones are not, but hey, that was the time really. What we see as racism now, they saw as just a little joke then that didn't hurt anyone.

Eureka's are the worst for it at the moment I think. I got a few from GZG and I wasn't too impressed. They paint up nicely though.

This guys great though, I'd love to see more. There is a trader selling some with masks somewhere and I don't think Black Cat Bases' pygmies would look out of place with this one...  :)

Looking really good, your faces are really looking good and are getting better with each sculpt, the torso looks a bit rushed and rough which is a shame as the model is really nice.I really enjoy looking at your sculpts as they are getting better and better.

The 1980s?  No, that was not the time, not where I lived.  The GW figures were horribly racist then and now.

Really? Perhaps I am over-estimating.

Fair enough.

Maybe I'm thinking more 60's/70's, but then I didn't even live in the 80's, let alone before that!!!

Despite the political correctness going mad in the thread o_o, the sculpt is great! :)
