West Indies Uniform in the Palestine Campaign?
« on: 13 May 2010, 09:59:54 AM »
Hello, all.

Just curious about the uniforms worn by the 1st West Indies Regiment during the Palestine Campaign of 1917-1918? Any suggestions about painting them? Or would the cut of the uniform be essentially the same as that described by Keith in his BEF painting guide?
Any suggestions about appropriate headgear? The few photos I've seen seem to have them in slouch hats or home service caps, but I'm sure there was some "standard" headgear at the time.

If it helps any with references I'm thinking I'd use the Gripping Beast/Woodbine figs to represent them.

Thanks,

Alex

I haven't a clue, but have you seen the "unofficial" regimental website? They have some photos. Sadly they are mostly unlabeled though. http://pub26.bravenet.com/photocenter/album.php?usernum=2152098292#bn-photocenter-1-1-2152098292/

This one certainly could be from Palestine.
