15-18mm Kraag or High Martians?

A friend is taking on the painful project of turning a half complete USS Constitution into a large flyer as a table center piece. While I've 15mm Colonial Brits, Askari, and some 18mm (hey, they're SUPPOSED to be tall!) Canal Martians (both in native and Colonial conscript poses) I'd really like something to play Kraag spoiler troops.

Any ideas on particular figs available? Small apes, with outspread arms for attaching wing webbing? Tiny deep ones? As always, the simpler-to-no conversion the better, and a lack of attached bases would be a plus.

Would take major putty/filing to tone down the 'fur', but those gorillas may well be an answer! Then, putty up some ears and wing webbing 'tween arms and body...

I tend not to do much conversions, all thumbs and such, but I really do want to keep to Space 1889, at least in spirit.

Currently, the (Black Hat?) Martians are being painted on a called in favor, and no telling how long the airship will take.

I definitely agree THAT should be seen, but my poor web-fu, and distaste of most image hosting services, limits how much I get posted, but I shall endeavor to reward your efforts on my part by complying with your wishes.
