Yes thats what we are thinking. The idea we have for game play is that there is not direct line of sight between the top walkway gantries. We are not going to make gas bags. But I am thinking of making template we can use to judge line of sight. A semi-circle that will sit on the top rail at each side and show where the gas bag would sit. Not sure if I want to include rules for blowing up the gas though as that would make for a rather short game :D

After all that hard work that would be sadly amusing.

From the pics you have posted I cant see anything wrong with the build but then again you built it so you know where the problems are. Maybe you should keep quiet and no one will notice  ;) Looking damn good though  :-*.
Don't!

Frankly, I don't think you'll need to worry about gas blowing up after the Friday Curry night. I hazard to guess that'll be taken care of.

so the rooms have ceilings obviously, but then you have a middle gantry and upper gantry... are the middle gantries the same?

We are intending to have roofs on the rooms. So that we can hide surprises in them >:D
Not sure about the middle gantries yet I will see what looks good when I make the template. I don’t want the gas bags to take up all the space between the gantries. My thinking was that, seen as how it is a narrow space to play a game on we didn't one person sitting on a high gantry being able to stop movement along the length of the zeppelin. So he can been seen and shot at, from other places. So someone on the top gantry can see down to the middle gantry but only about half the cargo bay and vice a versa. I suppose someone could stand in the middle of the cargo bay and see both sides but they would then be in the open where as people on the gantry would have some cover. We are attempting to make a realistic zeppelin but it still needs to be gamable. We still need to try a few trail runs of the game to see what will work. We have a few different ideas for encounter markers that take into account you are fighting in a zeppelin that may help.

Colin, it's looking astonishing  :o

Re. the gasbags exploding: Did someone else already suggest that after all those months of construction, for the full authentic airship experience you should play with it once and then at the end of its maiden outing, let it catch fire and go up in flames  :D

Excellent idea! That's the closing ceremony of BLAM sorted and Colin's storage dilema.  ;)

If the lifting agent is helium then no worries about combustion. Hydrogen wouldn't be too bad either really unless someone is firing incindiary bullets.

Nothing else is in the same league.

It has caused more awe and admiration than many, many other threads put together.

Phenomenal stuff.

I totally agree. This shall be a beacon of an inspiration for us all!

Indeed, something we can all look up to, pun intended.

Say, why isn't this a sticky yet?  ;D
