First games
« on: 30 May 2010, 11:15:17 PM »
Peabody met with me at Strategies here in Vancouver to show me the ropes. I bought down my Threshold team and he bought down a Lurker team of some Zombies and a Serpentman.

I'll be posting photos and a report later today but I thought I would post a few first impressions of the game.

It seems quite easy to quickly take out even Characters with multiple wounds with a good damage roll. That Cult Leader might seem tough but a good Shotgun blast and he is down :-)

Close combat can be quite deadly and I like how drawn combats result in continued fighting and how a model  base-to-base is going to generate attacks even when it attempts to get up. Clearly you want to shoot those Lurkers and not let them get in close.

We got in three fun games in less than two hours and despite being wounded several times my Character managed to survive all the way through each game.

I'm looking forward to getting some Lurkers painted up and getting in some more Ames but as the "bad guys" this time

I can't take credit for the terrain, it is all from Strategies, the shop where we played.

Thanks for the fun games Pixelgeek.
It's great to be able to drop in to a local shop and have fun with a nifty game like S.A. without any fuss.

Television is rather a frightening business. But I get all the relaxation I want from my collection of model soldiers. P. Cushing

Just played my first game last night, looks like I'm in good company!

What I learned was, angry German women with meat cleavers are awesome.

Let me see if I can get the Doctor and his Henchmen finished tomorrow. I also have the gravestones done so we can do that scenario if you want.

How many points is your team?
