I dont matt any figures any more after the white colour( thick coat, bad batch, last 1/4 of pot or temperature) or the matt going yellow after 2 years( try for 30 years to find a good one ).
Try most matt's ( EVEN GW) and they do all have the same problem
best way, if you are matt varnishing you figures is to brush on very thin coats
never use the last 1/4 of the pot and allways give a good mix before using.
I only use GW spray satin, which i try to do in two light coats
Yes it satin but it goes flat after 6 months and never goes yellow.
Problem with sprays is
1 Follow the instruction on tin (Temperature below 5 Deg not good)
2 allways give a wee spray before spray your figures( just to check OK)
3 if too thick of coat, have thinner and brush on hand to save your painted figure
4 Spray outside (Pain if its raining and it rain a lot in Scotland)
