Using up the scraps

That's what I like to see, plenty of rubble! I hate seeing 40k type boards with huge great building corners everywhere and no sense of where the building was. Having said that, is the rubble level enough to balance figures on without them falling off easily?

A neat trick, if you are using metalic bases, throw a magnet bit in the rubble every inch or so (not two, too close together).  Just get a thick fridge magnet, hit it with a hamer or break off a chunk with pliers, and it looks like a brick that's been smashed.

So a quick update.

Rubble applied (second layer on a different set of buildings.)  I didn't bother with adding paint to the glue this time around though.  The flat piece on top is one of the upper floors that slides in to the building on the right.

Cant wait till all the rubble is done, but it takes a while to dry as the air is a little damp.

Really good stuff..you see so many ruins where people just don't appreciate just how much mess and rubble buildings make when they collapse..and not  just rubble but bits of glass (acetate sheet), wooden planking from balsa or lolly sticks, roof tiles (I know how much you like cutting individual ones). Like to see how you intend to finish the walls..that will really give them more of a date. I reckon some use of brick sheets bonded with pva then plastered around would give the desired effect. And maybe sprinkling some of your rubble mix atop the walls prior to the final plaster coat would make them look really ruined. Also like the idea of sections of buildings which have been re-inhabited and have been patched up with tarps/ packing crates and bits of pig iron.

Can't wait to see how these turn out.

That's my guess.  I think I'll be stockpiling up on cork tiles.  I found a craft store that is selling them for 50 cents each.  She gets all sorts of weird stuff in then just prices it and sells it.  Weird little business but it's been around for a while...
