Searching for Modern/SiFi Halflings
« on: 17 June 2010, 10:11:46 PM »
Evening.

Does anybody knows a manufactorer for such kind of minis, something like the GW Halfling Snipers, but with pistols, shotguns, light bodyarmour etc...?

Hasslefree has the Grims, which sound pretty close to what your lookin for.
I am looking for the following Deadlands minis:  Shotgun Thug, Lost Soul, Cleaners, Railroad Workers & Feral Dead. If you have any of these minis, or if you are one, please send me a PM.

Ral partha used to have some halflings in their Shadowrun line. You might still be able to get them from Iron Wind.

As others have said, Hasslefree Grymn are great options.  You may also want to look at their Kindred.  They are a WWI type of halfling soldier.

Does anybody know who the grymn size up with the Citadel snipers.
I have them and want to have the others in nearly the same scale.

Also have to check the Shadowrun-ones

Hasslefree are true 28's, I have mixed them in with Games Workshop and they are fine.

With the Halflings?
If so, they would be my first choice.
Checked also the WW1 types right now, they look also great, maybe as starting point for some conversions.

Thanks so far for helping to all.

With a halfling I'm not sure, the human size minis scale up fine so I would assume the halflings do too... but I can't say that with 100% "sure of myself-ness" lol. I'm sure someone here could post a photo?

The Grymn are almost exactly the same height as the new Ratling Snipers and would make great proxies for them.  The Kindred are a little more 'slight' than their GW compatriots and wouldn't fit size-wise, with the new style Ratlings...

There is quite a range of Grymn too...so it wouldn't be too difficult to find some with weapons similar to your requirements.

@ Inso

I have the old Halfling Snipers, but i hope they are the same size as the new ones.
Really like the Grymn, so I think I go for them.
Want also to do some Tunnelfighters after I saw yours.

Will also check the Blacktree ones, thanks manic_miner ;)

I think Black Tree took their SF Halflings out of production.  They dropped off their site a while ago, IIRC, but it might be worth sending them an e-mail.  They were a sort of feral scavenger version of halflings (which is a sort of strange idea, I guess).  But they are nicely done little figures.
