On to the Lost World ...
« on: June 17, 2010, 10:35:46 PM »
After Challenger's unbelievable report about this "Lost World", the Royal Society sent an independant group of renown scientists and hunters to prove that "nonsense":

On board of HMS Hounslow, somewhere on an unknown jungle river ...

On the ship's tower: Expedition leader Lord Henry Farquahardsonsons, Earl of Cumbria and the most southwestern highlands.

On the deck from left to right:

Teddy "Four Eyes" Rosebud, big game hunter from Amerika.

Samuel Baker, famous Africa explorer with his Westley Richards .577 Nitro Express elefant gun.

Mr & Mrs Smith: longtime members of the Royal Society, specialists for geography, geology, meteorology and geomorphology; Mrs Smith wears a special skirt featuring an experimental camouflage pattern to blend fantastically into the jungle vegetation ... They are accompanied by their trusty dog "Skelly".

In the background Farquahardsonsons' gun bearer and one of the other expedition bearers.

>>> I just loved how this photo for a new game of ours came out, so had to imagine some nice fictitious persons and show it here. The Lord and Teddy Rosebud painted by Steve Dean, the rest by myself. <<<

Well, at least they'll have a nice choice of trees to hang him from once the Revolution comes! Aristocratic exploiter of the masses! ;)

Lovely work. The camouflage skirt actually does not look too dissimilar from from early-20th century tapestries (with an "autumn" theme), which I think is a great coincidence (?).
