Excellent stuff. What's that lever action rifle?
That is an American manufactured Winchester, that were supplied to the Russian army from 1916 onwards (info from Nik Cornish's 'The Russian Army and the First World War').
Very cool. Thanks for posting.
The silly thing is that I have spent several days in Prague and didn't go to this museum.
I'm pretty sure the one you have labelled as "This one might be WW1" is indeed WWI. The map, the photo of the trenches behind them, the uniforms with shoulderboards and Imperial cockades etc.
Cheers for the clarifaication on the ww1 photo, Mark, and more importantly thanks for posting the photos of the Polish uniforms from 1919-1920 on your website. The Polish Army of the Polish-Soviet War has always been one of my 'daydream projects' and I'm now at the point where the miniatures are available to do a reasonable job of it in 28mm. The trouble is that my contract finishes in July so just when I'm able to do it, I won't be able to justify spending a load on a new project. Who am I kidding though, I've got a load of miniatures from my current 'daydream project' that are sitting on my shelves waiting for a bit of TLC. I even started a blog in the hope that it might psyche me up into painting a unit a month, now I think it might join the long list of blogs that have died after one month. I really need to pull my finger out and prioritise painting ahead of watching Shabby and Ben's never ending conflict of words on Big Brother.
Still, come July I'll be cursed with enough spare time to finish those bloody SYW Jaegers and hussars so for every dark cloud...
