Wow! I'm convinced! This must be what British ray gunners looked like in the 19th century!

Nice job mate.

That is some very intricate and impressive green-stuff work. I fear for your sanity if you are going to do a unit of them  :?

I'd agree with using Empress or maybe Perrys as a basis for future conversions. You might as well use the best possible basic figure, if only to act as greater incentive to produce the best you can.

Having stuggled in recent weeks to do a conversion of a top-hat wearing, Gibson SG plucking, machine pistol-toting SciFi outlaw, I can appreciate the amount of work, swearing and gulping whiskey that go into doing this sort of thing.

I'd love to try a similar VSF model for myself one day. Now, back to trying to get that black leather effect on the top-hat :D

Thanks alot Gluteus- I don't think I'll end up doing a unit of them.  I don't think that the crown saw fit to send more than a couple to the area of Mars I'm concerned with. ;)  And good luck with your own conversion- hopefully we'll see some pics soon.

So here is the final sculpting on the figure and although I need to add a hilt to his empty bayonet scabbard, tomorrow priming and painting should begin, so I'll post the finished product here eventually.  I'm thinking about converting some type of loader/ammo carrier as well, so we'll see how that goes, but anyway, here is the finished power-pack.

Is that a Marconi-Henry rifle? :)

Shabash huzoor!

Very nice indeed.
I agree that a whole unit would be over the top. This being experimental tech and all.

Should prove handy for taking down Russian flyers!

Love the figure.  When I saw the pic where you added the stuff to his back, I immediatly thought 19th C Ghostbusters  :) Please keep posting pics.

I like that Marconi-Henry rifle thing  lol

I too thought of ghostbusters when I was making it.  I've been a bit busy recently with holidays and the World Cup to watch, so he still awaits painting, but I'll get on it!  Thanks for all the interest.  :)

That's awesome, utterly awesome!

I want one!

You should read Edison's conquest of Mars, it has a very pulpy VSF feel and this is what I imagine the 'Disintegrator ray' to look like!  :)

Very Nice... although it begs for Tesla in the name somewhere.

I like the goggles... you've got to have goggles firing something that looks like that.
