I love the expression on his face when all the red lights start targetting him  8)  lol

The A vs P films left me cold, but I'm really enthused about this one. Could be the hit of the summer  :D

Originally by a garage kit company called Billikin (based out of Hawaii, IIRC), though it was a major recasting victim, so unfortunately there's a realistic chance this may be a recast. This kit was part of a pair of matched kits (an Alien and a Predator) inspired by the original Dark Horse comics AvP comic. If you can find a copy of the comic, you'll see that the design of this pred's equipment matches that of the ones in the comic, minus the extensive body armor worn by the comic book preds. In other words, it's a Dark Horse AvP pred with it's protective gear stripped down to match the movie preds' "athletic pad" coverage level. The alien kit was not as nice IMO. Sculpting and detail was very "loose".

Billikin also made a first movie pred in the same scale which was even better than this one. Pose was very static, but the level of detail and accuracy was fantastic. Their sculptor really did his homework on that one.

Dunno how official the Dark Horse tie in was though. Dark Horse had their own GK studio at the time, and produced a few very nice pred kits of their own, though theirs were based on the first and second movies rather than their comics. Great sculpting, but very, very rare and hard to find.

If you want a really good matched pair of Predator/Alien kits, look for the ones made by "Geometric designs". They did a really good first movie Pred and Aliens-style Alien warrior in the same scale (as each other, not te same scale as the Billikin kits).

Geometric Designs also made a few separate resin accessories for the above. An egg and facehugger for the alien, and a set of Predator 2 trophy skulls for the pred (even though the actual figure was the first movie pred).

History viewed from the inside is always a dark, digestive mess, far different from the easily recognizable cow viewed from afar by historians.

The movie takes a good amount of time building up a great atmosphere of fear and disorientation. This part resembles the first Predator movie (the original soundtrack they used helped a lot, you just can't make a better soundtrack for this). Then the director tries to bring in 20 things at once, so the movie gets too "messy". Atmosphere suffers a great deal from this point on....

Still some nice ideas, some cool desings and a great setting. Perhaps seeing the movie more than once makes it better, because you are no longer overwhelmed by all the stuff that happens.

Just got back from seeing it, and I really enjoyed it, I think its a worthy sequel to the first Predator movie. You can see the homages throughout, and not just with the soundtrack.
