Innsmouth 1/72
« on: 10 July 2010, 10:03:15 PM »
What ho chaps. I know this is the LEAD adventure forum but as I game in 1/72 most of the figures I use are plastic. But you may like to take a peek. Hope you like them. Along with other members I hope to do an Innsmouth re-creation but am also working on a Dreamquest game.

First up, Priest of Cthulhu, Pastor of the Esoteric Order of Dagon and Zadok Allen

Next Shoggoths

Inhabitants with the Innsmouth look

figures are Caesar, Dapol, Airfix, Grenadier and Redbox.

Fantastic conversions Madcap. I think you've captured the Innsmouth look perfectly. Looking forward to seeing more of your minis.  :)

Wonderful.
I haven't seen that Airfix figure from the Wagon Train set for over 30 years!
(Do they still make them in a kind of orange-terracotta polythene?  ;))

Are the townsfolk Redbox Gangsters?  I love 'em!  I do 1/72, too, so I'm always on the lookout for good stuff.  If you haven't checked the Elheim site, they've got a few usefuls, too.

Where'd the pastor come from?  It's great!
Check out THE CROGAN ADVENTURES, a historical adventure graphic novel series available from your local bookstore or comic shop (or, of course, Amazon).  I make 'em.

Sure do Cap'n. Still the same bendy orange plastic.

That's the Friar Tuck figure from the Airfix Robin Hood set, with a 10mm Pendraken Fishman head.

Thanks guys for all your comments. I will post up some Government forces later.

I recognize the Squid headed priest from the Cesar Undead set.  Very cool.   :)

Very impressive conversions. What sculpting putty did you use for the Innsmouth look?

The squid head was done with milliput. I have always been too scared to try green stuff :o. The Innsmouth citizens were just paintjobs over the original casting, maybe a bit of trimming of hair etc (huzzah for soft plastic). Hope to get the DeepOnes up next week if the bases come soon. I have to juggle my painting with paternal duties :-[

I know that feeling, try twins mate! ;)

My only tiny tinny niggle is the size of your gravel on the bases, just a little too big and throws the scale, but again loving the Innsmouth look!

:D
