So, can you make it easy for the rest of us painting them and tell us what paints/colors you used?

Cheers Vyper.  :) I'd love some more Brit Cit figs myself. Maybe Mongoose could be persuaded if they're serious about expanding the range?

So, can you make it easy for the rest of us painting them and tell us what paints/colors you used?

Sure. All paints are GW, by the way, cos they're readily available everywhere. Um, lets see...

Starting from a black undercoat...

Jumpsuit: Midnight Blue, then 1:1 mix Midnight Blue and Regal Blue, then Regal Blue for the final highlight.
Boots/gloves/belt/pads: Orkhide Shade, then Knarlock Green, and finally a thin highlight of Gretchin Green. (all Foundation paints)
Shoulderpad: Iyanden Darksun (Foundation), Gryphonne Sepia wash, retouch raised areas with ID, then pick out edges with Sunburst Yellow.
Eagles & Badges: Shining Gold, Devlan Mud wash, highlight Burnished Gold.
Helmet edging: Blood Red
Pistols: Boltgun Metal, Badab Black wash.

Skin and hair to your own recipe as mine still needs work.

Basically, I tried to make it as easy as possible in case I ever want to repeat it, and more importantly, because I'm a very lazy painter. :D

Very cool - I remember the old GW Judge Dredd figures, with the bikes and everything. Must dig them out after seeing this wonderful lot - monkey see, monkey do, I guess!

Great painting!

Ok, I have been looking around at Painted Judges.
Should the shoulder pads be yellow or gold or one of each?

They really look great! :-*  I hope Mongoose expands the range too!  There are some real gems in there!

Should the shoulder pads be yellow or gold or one of each?

It's one of each - the eagle (or lion) on the right shoulder is gold; as is the badge and chain, while the armour-plast pad on the left shoulder is yellow. Strictly speaking their uniforms are black, not dark blue, but that's just pedantry!

These are superb examples of Mega-City's finest. Well done!

really? where are the shoulder pad colours given? I always thought they were both yellow and just the badge was gold... although a different design, the eagle is just another pad like the left shoulder...

I'm fairly sure they are one gold/one yellow in Judgement Day, cos I just reread that recently and realised I'd painted the suits the wrong colour.  :(

However, I could be misremembering as I do that a lot, and frankly I think the uniform varies depending on the artists. I chose to do the pads different colours as I think it looks more striking, but I don't ever recall seeing a definitive "right" way anywhere, unless its mentioned in the GoMC1 sourcebooks which I don't have.

Its difficult to pin down. A lot of the time the elbow pads are yellow too, but sometimes they are green. I just went with what felt right to me to try and balance the paintjob.

My knowledge of the judges is out of date but, certainly in the early days, the eagle was often given shine and glare to show it was metal whereas the other shoulder pad wasn't.
