Skirmish Wargamers' 54mm game at Attack in Devizes
« on: July 21, 2010, 11:26:09 AM »
The Skirmish Wargamers, a group that specialise in 54mm skirmish games and who are a familiar sight at UK shows, ran Western games on both days at last weekend's Attack show in Devizes, Wiltshire. I took a few photos which I present here.

Their games were obviously enjoyed hugely by the participants and it was a great pleasure to meet Mike Blake, one of their stalwarts and a well-known name for those of us who began using his western rules in the 70s.

As a user of 54mm for western games myself, seeing this game (handily located right in front of my trade stand) was a joy.

Awesone stuff, I have his rules somewhere from way back in the day. I think I can spot some Timpo scenery in that display, that certainly brings back happy memories from the 70's.
Thanks for sharing these. :)

Really nice looking game. I think that’s the first time I see a 54mm Old West game 8)

Credit should go to Wild Al Winsbury for setting it up and GMing. I have some shots of the quite different set up on the Sat which I will try to post...

That is really awesome!  :o I run a large 28mm Wild West game and appreciate the work put into this. I am also a 54mm fan. I'd love to do it for the Old West. It would just be too hard.

Very nice game.
I had a huge collection of Timpo Cowboys , Indians and buildings that I had to sell when we emmigrated in the 70's :'( I wish I still had them.
