Fifteen (as of 28-Jul-2010) Vehicles for Axles & Alloys
« on: 26 July 2010, 04:33:48 AM »
So I discovered Axles & Alloys.

And made 14 cars for it.

...because anything worth doing is worth taking to ridiculous excess, right?

You, sir, are not allowed to attempt a takeover of the solar system until your octopus sobers up.

Correct. Absolutely right.

I've never heard about Axles and Alloys though. Apart from the obvious pun on the name, presumably it bears no relation whatsoever to Axis and Allies?
I'm guessing from the models (all superb, by the way, love 'em) that it's a tabletop smash-'em-up game, and not a strategic boardgame of worldwide domination?  ;)

Nice work on the vehicles! I never played the game but this does look a bit excessive, but of course very nice too  :D

I particularly like the scorpion-like wrecker vehicle.

Are these all scratchbuilt?  How big are they?  They look great.
This is my boomstick!

They are all scratchbuilt to some degree.

I'd guess they're roughly 6mm scale - most of the parts are "Non-truescale" for Reaper's CAV game, which is 10mm.

Made another one.

I think I'm happiest with the weathering on this one as opposed to the others.

Might have to give this a go.  I may have found a home for all those clicky mechwarrior vehicles I've got.

Froggy, you have the touch of creative genius! I always enjoy your posts.

I went this route -
http://www.diecastaudio.com/2009/06/10/jada-announces-new-battle-machines-line/

They are slightly under $3 (USD) per car. Think they might work scale-wise to supplement your current garage?

Those are amazing, and I want them all, of course.  However, 1/64 is roughly 28-32mm, yes?  My vehicles are 6-10mm(ish).

So when are you coming to Charleston so we can throw down in any number of types of game?
