15mm figures (using SOTR rules)
« on: July 26, 2010, 09:00:51 PM »
Hi,

My friend and I have decided to use the SOTR rules but with 15mm figures to make more of the small playing area we have available.  To this end we have bought mostly flames of war figures, my problem is that for the "characters" in SOTR like Black Jack and Lazarus are obviously not available so I have been looking for suitable replacements such as a 15mm Cyborg and a 15mm character with longcoat, broad rimmed hat and pistol / cane etc.

I have scoured the various sites and am happy to make conversions but a lot of the sites dont have pictures for all their figures so there may be better/more suitable figures than i have seen so far.

Can anyone here recommend any particular figure or mix of figures (for conversion) that we could use?

We have already got a horde of 15mm zombie nazis from rebel mini's, which brings me to another point; are they the only ones that supply werewolves in 15mm?

They seem to be from when I did a search earlier in the year, but they are nice though;

Where have you looked so far?

Don't forget Eureka miniatures from Oz have a great range of wierd ww germans, (Ian at fighting 15's can order most stuff in (he's UK based) plus ask Agis for his list of links at 15mm.

Good luck.

Where have you looked so far?

Quite a few places, the problem is that sites like peter pig and some others have a lot of selections that dont hsve a picture so you cant see what the fig looks like.

I have looked at Eureka miniatures, the scene, Khurasan miniatures, game figures inc, critical mass, RAFM, QRF, Peter Pig, Splintered light, GZG and 15mm.co.uk.

I have seen some possibilities but was wondering if anyone had seen any other figs that may not be pictured.  I have been considerig some american civil war or cowboy figs for a trenchcoat and hat for instance.

There are several companies which supply werewolves in 15mm.

As it happens, I've just finished painting some of new models from Splintered Light ones which are very nice. I just need to base them. Scroll to the bottom of the page:

Obviously you know about Rebel Miniatures but a couple others I know of are:
15mm.co.uk (these are quite large): http://www.15mm.co.uk/HOT67_WERE_MONSTERS.htm
ERM: http://shop.eastridingminiatures.co.uk/ft55-1016-p.asp
Magister Militum: http://www.magistermilitum.com/product.asp?numRecordPosition=16&P_ID=723&strPageHistory=cat&strKeywords=&SearchFor=&PT_ID=165

Damn I missed them previously due to the fact they were at the botom of the undead section (werewolves are undead?) thanks for spotting them :), they look quite good.

Yes I have seen those but at 25mm tall they are a bit large.

Not bad, do you know if all 6 in the pack are the same pose?

That one is a bit human for my tastes but it's another 15mm site I can add to my list, cheers.

Thanks for those, I think the splintered light ones may be best so far after comparing pics.  Now I just need to find some other figures suitable for SOTR conversion.

They are also quite new.  I believe they were only released in June.

I don’t kow with regards to the werewolves but another pack of theirs that I bought contained the same pose for all the miniatures.

Same feeling!

My favourites so far are the Splintered Light ones. I’ve just got to base them and they’re finished.
Another werewolf I have is by Elhiem Miniatures. It is for 20mm gaming but fits quite well against my 15mm Essex Miniatures. Better than the 15mm.co.uk miniature.

Pole Bitwy, had photos of a really, really nice 15mm werewolf green which I believe is due to be released sometime in the near future.
