Tumbler Batmobile
« on: 27 July 2010, 12:44:13 AM »
Heads-up found this at Target for $7.99.  Quite a bargain considering the scale is right-on.  Also comes with bits to convert the batmobile but the 4 tracks that come with are great conversion fodder.  Guns and fins etc. Well worth the price.  Horrible pics with my Batman repaint.  Now I just have to dirty it up.

On Amazon for the same price:

You can't play with that design...well you can of course but you'll be damned to hell if you do!  :D

Jeez...that is scaled perfectly.  I would've thought it was too small.

Maybe a trip to Target is in order.

If those extra tracks had just been a teeny bit smaller the alternative options would also have looked quite good. But as is it stands they look out of place to me.

Yes.  It's a clixy one I repainted.

The tracks don't look quite right on the vehicle, however I have a plan for using them on a scratchbuilt future type tank.  Tracks are always what keeps me from making my own tanks.

Target stores are my favorite....Wal-mart has better prices, but always feels dirty.... Plus the people you see on the website THE PEOPLE OF WAL-MART is not an exaggeration.

Target on the other hand, is for us 'high falootin-snobby rednecks'.  But, they do keep their stores spic and span!

Still seems out of scale for me for some reason.
Stats for the Tumbler are....
    * Length: 15 feet (4.57 m)
    * Width: 9 feet 4 inches (2.84 m)
    * Tires: 4 "Super swamper" tires standing 44 inches (1,100 mm) tall (via titanium axles) in the rear and two 20" Hoosier dirt tires on the front.
I saw a remote controlled toy in the "clearance" aisle at Walmart some months ago i thought was just perfect. I was waiting for the price to come down further. :-)
NOW, i thought someone, here i thought anyway, someone found a 1/48 scale or 1/60 scale Tumbler online somewhere. Amazon maybe? I cant recall. Anyone else remember it???

I quite agree. Target is for the better sort of poor folk.

From what I've heard they pay a better wage than Walmart, and offer health insurance.  The Target out my way also has the distinction of not smelling like dirty diapers.

Good find btw.  I'll have to check my local Target if they've got any left.

If anyone is willing, let me know what it would take to ship one up to Canada, I can pay you over paypal.

I'm not sure if the Wal-Marts here would have them

Yes, It may be off a little, however when I  lay it next to my 1/48 scale normal cars it looks bulky enough and long enough to mimic the size in the movies and on the pic I showed.  So it's close enough for me.  And with all the extra kit it was worth the 8 bucks.  I'm thinking of geting a second so I can do battle damage.
