Thanks again!  :)

I never had any problem with the paint flaking off my plastic miniatures. First step is to wash the miniatures with water and some drops of detergent. After they have dried I spray-paint the miniatures with acrylic primer. For painting the miniatures I use acrylic paint. That’s it!

…and some pictures of different older games:

Did you also spray them with a matte sealant? The paint jobs are great, a little on the dark side -- did you dip them or apply a dark wash to bring out the details, or is that simply your painting style?

@SBMiniaturesGuy: No, I don’t use any kind of sealing, but you are right with the dark wash. I usually take the brown GW-wash and additionally make some black-lining with ink.

But there are not only plastic miniatures in my armies. I really love the AB figures. They are only in 1/76 scale but fit perfect to my 1/72 plastics. Here are some pictures of my US boys:

You have an absolutely outstandingly painted army :)

I'm curious about how you achieve the crisp skin colour as well.

Don't quite know what to say. Beautiful figures and great photography. I'm loving it. Absolutely cracking.

Björn mentioned something about an upcoming Sudan game. I'd love to see some more pics of your Sudan stuff if and when you have any.

Outstanding work!  Your use of lighting makes for great effects, too.

Really is a wonderful army, could you tell me who made these 1/72's? Are they plastic or metal?

Cheers

The church-wall is from the German company Busch.  The product number and name are: 6014 - Steinmauer mit Tor HO. And there are a lot of other useful things in there catalogue! http://www.busch-model.com/default.htm

The last batch of miniatures is made by AB Figures: http://www.abfigures.co.uk/

I’m currently working, together with Driscoles, on a Stalingrad game board. Driscoles is responsible for the miniatures, vehicles and painting of the buildings. My part was creating the game board…and here it is:

That game board, like all of your other stuff, looks incredible!  Any interest in sharing some of the techniques?

Building this kind of board is really easy. Here is a small report in pictures

1. We already have some buildings, so we try to find out the best position for them.

2. We are cutting some pieces of foam board (5mm) and glue them on the game board.

3. Now we are adding some details, like bomb craters (they are than carved in the surface).

4. In the next step I glue different kind of sand and gravel on top of the board (no picture).

5. Painting the whole thing…

The End  :)
