Is the diecast one at all usable with 28mm or way too small?

A bit on the small side, by my reckoning. The figures that come with it on the other hand are a little squatter than 28mm, but still too big!

I know the scale of these vary wildly, but a couple of years ago I bought 2 '1974 Lesney Matchbox Super Kings' transporter trucks for €1,- a piece at a thrift shop. They're intended for use as generic transporters in my Gerry Anderson UFO project (odd how that's been dormant for years and I realize that I just referenced it for the 3rd time this day...  ::)).

They're a bit cramped for 28mm figures, but still plausible. So perhaps the above vehicles (not all of them, probably) could still be shoehorned into a 28mm role?
Miniatures you say? Well I too, like to live dangerously...

Ironically, the same week they republished the original cursed earth stories (uncut, complete with burger wars) and it sold out within hours.

Copies are on Amazon. The uncensored Cursed Earth collection was actually my first bit of reading the comics. I now have Origins, as well as Apocalypse War, with America on the way.

More 20mm than 28mm.  So they're a bit small and unimposing next to a bedecked with skulls space marine (although it would put marines into a more realistic proportional sizing ... ).

I've got one of the matchbox transporter race car carriers that is fine for a futuristic campervan in 28mm, though.  Gull wing doors and all.

Great stuff  8) 8)

Might I suggest a bit of weathering, damage and rust. Could help to give it that dirty MC1 feel.

cheers
