Scarecrow as Horror

Was re-reading the Scarecrow/Dr Syn thread  and then, when I moved to here, it hit me - what if Dr Syn really was a monster (Well, Wikipedia, makes him look pretty bad as a pirate a couple of times in his life,) due to some pact with a Evil Power?     What if he was "Spiritually BiPolar"  alternating Evil  with Good  in his actions?

Okay, that's it - just a fragment of a demented mind.
