Hasslefree 'Alien Hunters'...again
« on: 05 August 2010, 10:16:02 AM »
You may have seen these before - if so my apologies. I'm posting them again as I believe the photos I've taken of them recently are much better than the originals. I'm also adding reinforcements....

and I'm also painting a few for a client who has made a few clever additions and changes...
If you haven't got these minis in your collection you're missing out!

Brilliant and subtle painting. Camo and the armour looks great. I really like how you've done the bases too.

Hell, post them everyday, and I won't complain once!

Absolutely beautiful.

What do you use to get that dead flat finish?

Great figures, great inspiration for my own project.  I must get the a few more of these as pilots and drivers for my platoon section.

(Just clean those bases up marine!).

I thought the over painting and scuffs on those bases was intentional and looked really good :)

Fantastic, your painting is really stunning. I love the dry, dusty look but with crisp colours.
Just for interest how do you paint the chipped armour? I've tried painting grey on edges and raised areas, but I just can't seem to pull it off, how do you do it and make it look so natural?

Beautiful minis!

I've thought many times of putting together a group from Hasselfree, such nice figures, though I do wish there were more minis with the rifle...

Oh, and intentional or not, I love the way the bases blend.

Lovely paintjobs Dwartist - I never tire of seeing these.

 :)

Your commission wouldn't happen to be from akka69 would it?  Have seen his conversions over on the FoD - very nice too!

Its also interesting to see that everyone has gone with the "percieved" colour for the pulse rifles (ie the green it looks watching on screen) rather than the Brown Bess colour they were supposed to have been painted.

They're mostly done in green....mostly.
