Heavy Guns
« on: 05 August 2010, 01:52:24 PM »
Just seen these pieces and thought I'd share (vaguely recall someone was looking for garrison/barbette carriages a while back) :

The guns certainly look very impressive in the photos.

We asked if he could either give a price without the ACW crew figures or if he might bring out some Royal Artillery crew figures for British garrisons...

Will let you know as soon as there is a reply.

Ooooh very nice. I like the 100pdr Parrott Rifle Gun, is that a breach loader?
Don't!

unfortunately not

parrots are all muzzle loaders, and I always wandered how a rifled gun can be loaded from the front....

I would fancy some breachloaders of that calibre, allthough they are not cheap

I once had a good look at a victorian elephant gun that was a rifled muzzleloader, the bullets for it had flanges that went into the rifling and spiralled down into the barrel when you dropped them in. Amazing gun, had a hexagonal barrel too.
So many projects..... so little time.......
