Ideas to round out a little project. Help please!
« on: August 10, 2010, 11:41:37 AM »
Hi all

I was recently looking at finishing a small US WW2 force (actually Weird War, since it contains Captain America... ;)) and was thinking of adding a small recon type vehicle to it.

I'd been tempted by an M8 Greyhound, as they have a nice armoured-but-fast look to them, but then I realised they need a four man crew and ideally I'd like a two-manner.

I found this White Scout Car:

but it's Black Tree (and therefore probably impossible to get), and looks a bit off to me anyway. Can anybody suggest an alternative maufacturer, or even an alternative vehicle that would fulfil the same role?

Oh, and does anybody except Black Tree do GIs with radio equipment? I'd kinda like one for the command squad.

Ta muchly.

JB

Whatever you decide, Black tree vehicles are to be avoided at all costs, they are appallingly bad kits and way out of scale too.

JTFM do one.

And for the radioman, Bolt Action does both for the army and airborne troops.

Thanks guys!

@ Matakishi - I looked at the JTFM stuff on WCP and somehow decided that was a halftrack. Obviously wasn't paying attention.  :-X

Will check out BAM for the radio guy.

Cheers!

As an alternative vehicle how about an M20 from Tamiya?

I have a Solido version which you should be able to find cheaply on Ebay.
