Sharps Pirates - pic heavy

Hi all. Last weekend we had a game of Sharps Pirates at a local convention. This was a British/Spanish raid on a Barbary Coast Pirate settlement to recover some slaves. I played the Pirates with a friends son while he played the British with the aid of another gamer on the first day.The Arabs and slaves were mine while the British and Spanish were my friends (except for the Front Rank Spanish)
I took a few photos but either I need to get a bit closer or I need a better camera.
I did'nt take any notes so am trying to remember what happened while its still fresh in my mind.

The Spanish were going for the front gate of the fort

The Front Rank Spanish had dissappeared by this time and were replaced by the British Riflemen

Another gap in photos.
The Riflemen had been wiped out from attacks by various Arab groups leaving Paisley on his own. Fondler managed to get back to a British unit safely.

The Spanish were clearing out at this time so the British decided to withdraw to fight another day.
We were asked to put the game on again at another event and have plans to do some more work on the terrain and I have also ordered some craft from Games of War. Tonite I started a conversion for Fellatio Lawnmower and some British Sailors for the next game.
I really enjoy these rules and could not imagine playing something more serious for Naps as I think I would lose interest.

Lovely looking game - nice to see the Spanish getting an outing, an often over looked napoleonic choice, but that's understandable I suppose.

The little fort was made by me out of foamcore. The tower part was originally made as an outpost for Pulp games and then I added some buildings and walls around it. All the pieces are seperate so they can be used by themselves. I call them my Johnny Foreigner buildings as they are intended to be used in Mexico , North Africa and probobly other places.I also made the dock and Ray made the other buildings.

Colonel Tubby we were using Sharp Practice for the rules.

Great stuff - I particularly like the walls that combine posts and masonry.

The wooden parts of the walls are removable as I felt the fortifications would be out of place for some games.

The more observant may have noticed that the gate and pallisade are in different places on Rays photos. I set the fort up in the wrong place and was lucky that the wall sections were near enough the same size so could be swapped.

Ah, now that's a great name for them - I have a similar (although not as large!) set of buildings, all white plaster so far, intended, as with yours, to be anywhere at all from Spain to Mexico to China and points in between.

Good looking table, sounds like a good game was had.

I think I shall be stealing the "Johnny Foreigner" tag for my own buildings, too!

Part II , I brought my old camera and got some better photos this time. Basically it was the same game but  with an all British force against some French Allies with the Pirates . The British managed to capture the slaves this time around.
The British had some Sailors and Marines this time who landed from (my unfinished) boats.

Banger Brock in his Congreive rocket equiped boat. The first shot landed in a British boat causing 5 points of damage.

Fellatio Lawnmower leads a party of Sailors who attempt to break down a wall.

Seaman Stains commands a unit of Marines.
