Superglue? I've never had a problem if I used CA-based glues - GaleForceNine and the old Greven superglues are great for that. For bases, I usually added a first layer of paper tissue to the base using PVA glue, and textured that one after drying. Obviously, it depends on the materials - flexible plastics and ABS stuff may be more complicated than hard styrene.

thx Chris

actually, it is not only the base I want to glue, but CD fragments and plastic parts too
and I am aware that superglue can be very strong, but the plastic superstructure will be somehow ..., larger and I am afraid it may not keep integrity

I tried a glue gun yesterday, and although the result was awesome when still a bit hot, it all fell off when dried up :(

I think I see the problem - you mean glueing "hard styrene" (as in "plasticard") to form a structure? In that case, you may wish to reinforce the joints by adding angle pieces, so that the glueing surface is not just the edge of the sheet. It adds tremendously to the rigidity, and can be as easy as adding a matchstick, or a length of rectangular plastic rod.

thx again

yes, reinforcements, but the plastic cement still does not really glue...
anything else apart from superglue?

21 one build threads so far. I am glad people find some appeal in the idea. :)

This wouldn't be a real competition unless the finished piece is still playable in a CD player...  ;)
