Belgian Force Publique artillery
« on: 26 August 2010, 12:57:51 PM »
Reading an account of the battles of Beden and Redjaf, I found a mention of a "7.5 Krupp gun" in the rank of the Force Publique.
The only version I found of this gun is a mountain gun (which is sensible enough for a gun destined to be moved by hand in the jungle  :D). Does a field gun version of the 7.5 Krupp gun exist or is the mountain gun the only model ?
"The enemy? His sense of duty was no less than yours, I deem. You wonder what his name is, where he came from. And if he was really evil at heart. What lies or threats led him on this long march from home. If he would not rather have stayed there ... in peace. War will make corpses of us all."

Good!
Riveresco also do a 120mm Krupp Howitzer that you can use depending on when your FP is operating.
And if you are fighting against Tippu Tip then you could also use smoothbores/MLR's.

I'll buy the one from OUTPOST as my sources mention only a 75mm Krupp gun. It's for belgian campaign against the madhist and it was the only gun of the belgian force  :)

There were also two very good articles in back issues of MINIATURE WARGAMES (79 and 94)  ;)

A 7.5 cm and 75mm are the same. I have found over the years that there will be references to one or the other for many of the artillery pieces from the lat 19th and early 20th centuries.
