That first one piece great sword reminds me of the chap in the 2nd ed. rule book I've just been perusing - Nice work!

The multi part ones look great too!  8)

The good news is the second half of the Zweihänder set is ready and off to be mastermoulded. The bad news is most of the pictures I took of them before they left turned out pretty bad. Still, bad pictures are better than no pictures,  so I will shown them to you anyway, as I think the models are very good.

I'll start with my favourite of this bunch, he of the hat with many feathers. The flambergé type sword makes a nice change from the others and looks very good.

The next one mirrors the previous pose, though doesn't look quite as heroic. It takes all sorts.

The third and final rank and file figure is another body variant for the unitfiller pack, with two new heads.

The Zweihänder come with full command (their captain was included in the first batch). The standardbearer is carrying a small sword, which is resting casually on his shoulder (sharp side up of course).

We tend to associate bagpipes with the Scottish, but in truth they were pretty common in Western Europe during the landsknecht era.

Finally, something whimsical, which may or may not end up in the "Hors Série" range, a small duckling with a landsknecht hat, made by John as an in joke. It's really tiny, as can be seen from the picture.

 :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*

Do I need to say more?

Well...

 ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Magnificent, love them all very, very much. And still that flamberge guy stands a bit out. Actuall, don't think it can get any better than that.

So, only quistions are:

1) When?
2) How much ?

- and

3) What's next?  :P

1) When?

Mastermoulding next week. Then the mastercastings have to return to me to check for flaws before returning to the mouldmaker for productionmoulding. Productioncastings should be available towards April if nothing goes wrong (but keep in mind that's around the Salute buildup, so the caster may be busy.

2) How much ?

To be determined when I add it all up, but shouldn't be too far off the mark from the others. There will be three packs for these:
- command (3)
- one piece zweihänders (4)
- unitfiller two piece zweihänders (4)

3) What's next?  :P

First of all, ponyrider command. Though when that will be is uncertain as I had to elbow some of John's other commissions out of the way to get the greatswords done and he'll have to catch up on those first.

Thanks, WK - will be looking forward getting them all :)

Yeah, I heard of (and felt) your sharp elbows. Hurts, but "they" will get over it :D

Quality first ;)

.....where is the froth emoticon!!!!

These are wonderful!

WK....just a thought...would you consider selling a pack that is a 12 man unit?  That would cover all the sculpts and only have one dupe...which could be taken care of with a alternate head.

Cheers,

That does seem a bit of a sorting hassle for my underpaid minion who'd do all the work. I'm assuming you're asking because the current set-up leads to uneven numbers?

These are fantastic, interesting to see how the flamberge sword was sculpted. I find blade edges immpossibly hard, I have a few mastered ones I can use though.

Basically, John carved the basic shape out of a regular bladed one, then added putty to it.

That is what I was thinking...but now with further thought I realize that if I add the MM15 great sword...I would have a nice unit of 12.  Which is a reasonable size foe a 3rd edition elite unit.

So request withdrawn...;)
