6mm War of the Words Martian green :)
« on: 01 October 2010, 06:51:39 AM »
I want to share a photo of my FIRST GREENSTUFF SCULPT EVER! (Not first sculpt ever, beause I was sulpting through my all childhod with plasticine, so I have some practice).
This is martian from War of the Worlds. I hope my poor macro photo wont ruin this model.

I hope you can see on my horrible macro photo that martian have Supraorbital ridge and pores on back of his head

So cute and sweet  :)

In other words - I love them.

Now if they where 2mm they could crew Germy's Tripods:

Copied here without permission and I will remove the image if asked (but mines still in pieces as I cannot get the legs to stick)

I like those a lot! You've done a very good job, Fjodin. Stick with it - you'll soon be doing them in 28mm  :D

Whoa tiny critter! Tricky for your first sculpt :) I'd be tempted to pop some tiny balls of green stuff into the eye sockets.

Thanx for warm words. As I mentioned in first post this was not my first sculpt ever, but first greenstuff scuplt. And I like greenstuff mre than plasticine.

I am also making this guy in 15mm - fallout 2 gecko
http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Golden_Gecko_(Fallout_2)

I hope my plasticine experience will help me :) I remember spending manny summer hollidays making big post apocalyptic mutant city called Meerks.... Strange child, who love post apocalyptic terrein and figure making. Now I am evolved to metal minis, scratchbuild terrain, printable paper models (wich I made by myself) and now greenstuff :) I hope to return to life my old Meerks inhabitants fith greenstuf :)

I was thinking about it too, but I like eyles version. But it always possible to modify it :)

Nice work Fjodin. I think it looks great, however like Andrew I am doing this in 2mm.
Andrew - I know what you mean about the tripod legs. I drilled out the hole and used mitre glue with an accelerator. Mitre glue is bloody expensive and may only be posh superglue but it did the job. As far as I am concerned the key is to not worry too much about how the legs sit on the ground. Just get them stuck in and put card pads on the base to build back up to the feet, them cover over the card with your normal basing material.

I DID IT! Yesterday night I sculped 2mm martian! I'll use it as baby for my "pregnant" martian fig (one baby is standing at front of adult and second one is growing on its back)

I tried to do something to make this beam box not look like camera. I added 2 dots on beam projectile, but it still loks like a camera :)
