1/56 CompanyB Austin now in stock!
« on: 28 October 2010, 06:09:08 AM »
Well, when it rains, it pours.  Usually the day after a big convention...

To go along with our american M1 scout car, we will have in a few days the Russian Austin Armored Cars.

We have just received the resin production batches of the models this week.  I also just received notice that the metal sets for both the halftrack and the armored car were shipped to me on Monday!  So it's literally days away from being available.

Look for an official release next week, right after Fall-in this weekend.  Both the Austin Putilov and Austin Kégresse will be available as individual kits for about $32 each.  We'll eventual have a combi-kit with both sets of metals available if folks would like that option.  Though, if you ask nicely, we could make the halftrack tracks available as a separate kit (convert those Lledo and Matchbox models!)

The resin model is all one piece.  Turrets are metal, with only the MG needing to be glued into a small hole.  The suspension is several pieces, but quite easy as well.  The grab rails are cast on (I replaced them in the photo with wire, but they will do in a pinch)

I'm quite happy with the rivet detail, on both the metal cast turrets, and the resin.  I used the Archer Rivet Decals followed with a light spray of primer on the master.
Original Master

I'll post painted pics as soon as the metal sets arrive!

Wow, nice one. So much choice for my Bolsheviks. These armoured cars are starting to be like shoes to my gf. Gotta have them all. :)

Interesting to compare with cuprums Austin-Putilov.

Indeed it would be. I am glad both have some nice details like headlights. Copplestone cars, although well cast and nicely casted, are missing such little treats.

Beautiful work once more by Company B. Will be ordering soon.

Metal parts just arrived!

Here's a pic of the assembled Austin, with the correct headlights and details from the kit.

Metal sets for both models.  Halftrack on the left, armored car on the right.  The parts will go together very easily.  I'll have an illustrated set of instructions by the weekend.

I'll post painted pics as soon as I get this one finished.  Looks like I'll need to grab another one from stock to build out the halftrack as well  :D

Hi Brent,
will these be available from Co. B or Brigade? I can't find them for sale on either website.

Both...

We'll update the sites this weekend, and soon as I get a stock count.  I have piles of the parts that I need to bag, as well as instructions to print out...

just pm us via the website, and we'll update you via e-mail when they are in the store.
