A.I.Chessbots

In addition to my Codex:Army Men project I'm also designing a robot slash chess type of game. Mighty A.I. King masterminds battle for control of territory, material resources and artifacts from the long lost era of man.
The models are made out of cardboard, toilet rolls and various bits a handyman should have lying about.
A few of the models:
Bishop:
Knight:
Rook:
Queen:
A complete A.I.Chessbot team with 4 pawns in front:
First painted Pawn on the "battlefield":
Enjoy...

That is just awesome
I might start looking with other eyes at the used toiletrolls in the house...

Great stuff - what a brilliant idea well executed.
thanks for sharing.
Could you post a pic of the whole set up mid game once you've got that far with the project?

Great game concept and excellent models too. The idea of 'pop up' squares to act as an infinitely variable battle board is also inspired. I'm in awe (and a little bit scared) of the mental process which led to this.

I'm affraid I'm not quite finished yet. It's a project for a games designer contest for Horisont 2011. I'm a bit ahead of schedule...
I stille need to complete a Rook and a Queen for the second "team" and paint the lot. Then I'll start testing the rules.
And thank you all for the nice feedback.

That's a great project! I love the paint job, can't wait to see more pics.
