Cossack Wars
« on: 26 November 2010, 06:41:31 PM »
Not interested in the rule set if it is anything like the OG Gladiator rules. However, the figure line looks like it might not be half bad.  Anyone have these and/or know who sculpted them?

Have the thought that a 'Legends of the Volga' or similar LotOW/LotHS adaptation might make for some good fun. Thoughts?

Where is the figure line from? Old Glory?

Yes, sorry, by OG I meant the Old Glory line of Cossacks.

The rules are based of the Qd system like many of the OG Rules.

The figures are cool - full of neat characters. I'm actually working on a set of my own and I found this when I was looking for a painting guide:

"One of My Men Became Restless" focuses on 15mm Horse & Musket periods and 25mm Horse & Musket, Fantasy, Horror and Victorian everything! Occasionally there'll be stuff of related interest but it's mostly a painters blog.  See it all here: http://flashman14.blogspot.com/

I have some and they are not bad, one of the better OG ranges. I got some of the specialty sets (the palanquin, the dancers, etc...) to complement the (still better) Foundry and TAG figures.

There are also some in the Westwind Gothic Horror range. They were sculpted by the same chap and will blend perfectly with the OG ones. They are very nice figures. The good thing being the personalities come with a foot and mounted version. Ideal for skirmish gaming.

Packs GH00049 - GH00053. Sadly there are no photos.

Thanks guys, kind of undecided right now if OG or Foundry is the way to go here. Maybe some of each...

Don't forget The Assault Group. They are great too!

Here are some comparison shots I made a while ago:

Who is the 7th Sea figure, is that the name of the company?
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it anymore and what is it seems weird and scary.

7th Sea was the range, the company was AEG, to go with their swashbuckling roleplay setting. Sadly, they are OOP now, so you can only find them on ebay now.
