The Short and The Tall
« on: November 29, 2010, 09:06:55 AM »
I have some Copplestone Tropical Brits (post-WW1 BoB, technically) who are sodding massive. They're half a head or more taller than the bulk of my 28mm figures, included the other Copplestone gangsters and such I own!

Then I have some Old Glory Late WW1 Western Front Brits... and they're freakin' hobbits. A head shorter than nearly everything else I own!

 ;D

Most of my existing 28mm are Pulp Figures, Artizan, Copplestone or Great War Miniatures, which are all more-or-less the same size.

So, given my existing mix of figures, and wanting figures suitable for pulpishinterwar BoB stuff as well as possibly straight WW1, what can people recommend that'll fit?

I'm inclined to try Brigade Games for tropical Brits; I have a few of their pulpish figures and they're a near-perfect match, size-wise, for PF/GWM/normal Copplestone. Are their WW1 ranges sized similarly?

For Western Front/temperate British, I'll go GWM probably.

How do Gripping Beast/Woodbine's WW1 range scale against GWM or Pulp Figures?

Finally, what the heck was Mr. Copplestone thinking when he sculpted giant 8 foot tall British?

I know, it's damned irritating, isn't it?

I'd mix Artizan and Old Glory, I think, but Copplestone are almost always right out.
I told you so. You damned fools.

Copplestone's gangsters fit in with Artizan/Pulp Figures/etc just fine; the Brits are massive, though. (I gather the Ghurkas are even bigger??!!!?)

So: Brigade WW1 vs Gripping Beast/Woodbine WW1 vs Pulp Figures/others? Anyone?
