Friday Night SOTR Pics
« on: December 05, 2010, 03:31:04 AM »
A couple of (not great) SOTR pics on the Club website. You'll have to scroll about halfway down the page.

The Americans were defending a Crashed UFO (Sacred Site Mission), but the might of the Latverian (German) forces had them overwhelmed.

Thanks, it's a pretty easy effect achieved with a brown cloth and white paint. I'm just so damned sick of rolling green hills.

Looks like both the good Dr. D himself and some Doombots too made an appearance. What was the purple miniature in the first picture?

The purple guy is Baron Blood. Marvels WW2 vampire villain and brother to Union Jack the British super hero of the time.

Yeah, I run Latveria as an Axis power using the German rules, Doom is Hans the Hunter and the Doombots are run as Dhrones. Baron Blood is a bit of a fun vampire figure and yes, I do have a Union Jack for my British.

I can't claim too much credit for the table, but I can say that it's still a work in progress, it will get bigger and better.

The Union Jack Heroclix isn't a great figure, it's not as bad as some, but still looks funny.

I built most of the table and was running the Americans in the photos. Thinking of getting some Zuzzy mats as a base and making some rubble craters with the rest of the building making a 6 by 8 foot table or a 4 by 12 that will feature at Conquest in Melbourne Victoria Australia. Will keep people posted with more photos.

EXCELLENT LOOKING TABLE! The Zuzzy mats would enhance an already TERRIFIC gaming board. For urban battles you juct can't have to much rubble & debris. As a fan of tall buildings I LOVE this one:

GREAT STUFF!

Glad we have some fans of tall buildings. I personally don't get it when people war game an urban battle and all the buildings are only 2 stories at best (looking at you 40,000). Cities are huge both in width, and height. The problem is while keeping tall buildings i need to balance the table for fairness that and allow  access to all parts of the table with relative ease. Or else you end up with the same trouble i used to have with some of my Necromunda tables  lol.
