Yes, and I was beginning to think that they had left it and moved on.  Should be an impressive range at this rate.  Just need Dave Bickley's rules now.............  :-[

I think so to.

Have you seen from H&C the Book on First Bull Run?

Should be a good source for some of the uniforms worn during the battle.

Cheers,

Helen

Have you any details?  ???

I am quite fortunate to live near Ron Field, one of the greatest experts on Confederate uniforms.  8)

That's excellent having such a source near by.

Here we go:

I certainly would like to gather all source material on different uniforms worn during the battle in one area. I've found a few in my research, plus those I've in my few books on the battle.

Cheers,

Helen

I had a quick scan over my collection.  For early war uniformsI don't think that Don Troiani's paintings can be faulted for inspiration and accuracy.  He has several excellent books in print.

Yes I noticed on various web-sites various artists who completed a number of works for the battle:

Looking forward the Federal (union) troops in Shako… I have the feeling they could be use for VSF as well as ACW… ;)

Actually the Confederates in frock coats with havelocks can also be used for U.S. Regular Infantry at Bull Run.  The Confederates in shirt sleeves and havelocks can also be used for Union troops at Bull Run.

Brilliant! Always wanted to paint the La Tigers, NY Fire Zouves and US marines. Manassas is a great Battlefield (you actually get two for the price of one!); very close to DC and other attractions as well.

Hmm some of those may work with the Brazilians for the War of the Triple Alliance range I have commissioned. Nice to know.

I've long had a hankering to do a 'what if? '  game around the 1859 Pig War. Brits are easy, the Eureka Maori Wars figures will work perfectly. Am I right in presuming that for the US, Hardee hats and frockcoats would be the appropriate uniform? In which case Crusader seem the best bet.
