Very nice BMP-1. As a former Leaopard-1 gunner, I was trained to destroy scores of these. Our good fortune it never came to that.

I've got the leopard's to run against even, although in that particular case i think that the 73mm mainguns may prove that quantity has a quality all to its own

I believe the BMP-2 was down a passenger due to the turret being repositioned and the squad leader was now the vehicle commander, giving a crew of 3 with 6 dismountable infantry (though 7 gets banded about too).

As for how many troops it contains, I have no clue, but seen plenty of videos and pics of soldiers simply sitting on top of them. So guess its passenger space + Room up top!

I actually think a few of these things can fit quite a few people in, but there is a difference between the proper amount (making it quick and easy and therefore much more likely you won't suffer horrible amount of casualties on exiting) and the sort of tight squeeze, which would make getting out of that thing deadly if the sh*t hit the fan!

But thats only a guess. In honesty, not sure.

quite common yeah, i think it's not the easiest to disembark from..

Sixx, i may have gotten about 150-200 finished + assorted vehicles, not really a good year

Well given the fuel cells are in the back doors and under the feet of the passengers in the rear , sitting atop the damned thing may appear like an attractive option. Incredibly cramped little buggers too. Doubt that would have been the norm whilst in combat in Western Europoe though.

Mine rupture and spalling were the biggest factors with the M113 IIRC. Oh. that and the climate. Spend any length of time rumbling around in an aluminium box on a hot day and it's amazing how nauseated you can feel.
