Polish Corps in Siberia

Site "Kolchakiya" published new information on the uniforms of Polish military units in Siberia.







These troops took part in battles with the Red partisans and the Red Army. Almost all of these parts were destroyed in the fighting and only a small part returned to Poland, which would again take part in battles with the Bolsheviks.

More like the Latvian Rifles.

That is Poles inside Russia, for whatever reason, wanting to support the new independant Poland.

I wouldn't characterise the Czechs as "POW" formations though. Many were there from other sources, including many who were "POW" only in the most technical sense, having actively deserted. They started fighting during the Great War.

It is the German, Austrian and Hungarian "Internationals" that were largely POW. The clue is that they did not appear until the war with the Central Powers was over. Only then would they agree to fight.

 A significant part of the Poles in the Siberian military units were among the prisoners. But just as there were many local settlers who came to Siberia before the war.
 And now, here in Siberia, home to many people with Polish names.
 Figures on the Siberian armies of the Civil War will be required. But first I will finish with the figures for Central Asia.
