Surviving a Zombie Apolcylpse(Update: Palin Added 18.02.11)
« on: January 10, 2011, 12:21:57 AM »
This is the start of my Zombie Apocalypse thread that I'll add to as I finish stuff. At our club we decided to do some zombie skirmish stuff with each person painting up a few survivors and some zombies and then latter making some terrain for it.

First up is Miss Kitty with a pair of 9mm's to shoot her way to survival. It's a Hasselfree miniature which I think are just superbly sculpted and will use this company for all my survivors.I hope you like it and thank you for viewing.  :)

A lovely paintjob on a lovely miniature, I'm envious, but looking forward to seeing more!

Very nice. I'm curious about the base, however.

Very nice indeed.

Lovely hair, skin and a great match up of colors for her outfit.

The base is a fine sand lightly brushed and weathered. The newspaper is shrunk down and crumpled a bit with some weathering added.I hope this helps. :)

If they are sculpted like Hasselfree then yes I think so. :)

Well I'll be...

That's a fantastic idea. Here I've been painstakingly sculpting pavement from apoxie sculpt.  ::)

GRRRrrrrrrrrrrrrrr....Vroooooom.....Yes! It's still got gas in it!
I really like Palin. A kid with a chainsaw..... Oh dear is what comes to us parents minds, but still admittedly funny on a fantasy only basis and a must have figure.

When I first looked at the miniature what came to mind was a kid in hunting clothes even if that wasn't what the designer had in mind. I've always thought it amusing when hunters put on camouflage clothes and then bright orange jackets and caps defeating the whole purpose in one go. I understand why they have the bright orange stuff is to avoid being shot by other hunters, but what I don't understand is the camouflage clothes. Maybe, it's just for their mind set.

The other thing you may have noticed is a lack of gore that would obviously come from using this shredder on zombies, but truth be told while I do think a kid with a chainsaw is a fun model and cool, I'm personally not comfortable covering children in blood and so no blood. For me the image I have is he was being chased by zombies and found this in the back of a truck just in time and happy it works as he starts the chainsaw in exultation.

Thanks for viewing!  :)

The bases are great, and I really like how Palin's paint job turned out. I thought he looked like he was in hunting gear too.

Who made this spunky kid?
