Also I seem to recall that in Episode IV around the scavenging of R2 and the sale of the droids scenes there was quite a height difference between the Jawas on screen.

average fecking height...

I wasn't arguing. Just pointing out that probably the comparison was even more unfavourable as most figures probably don't represent 'average' humans.

again according to Wookiepedia, Han is 1.8m and Luke is 1.7m, and Jango Fett and every clone stormtrooper is 1.8m which isn't that far off the average

Sure. Luke is average height for a human.

But short for a Stormtrooper. He's probably also short for a Star Wars mini.

The 'average' for human figures in a Star Wars range is probably going to be slightly above the average of all humans in the Star Wars universe, because there are more figures like Han and the Clone-troopers, Stormtroopers, etc that are above the average height of the whole population than there are small humans produced. The wookiepedia entry doesn't say the 'average height of humans that figures are produced for'. So assuming that the average of the human figures (33mm) matches the average of the entire human population (1.7m) will probably produce Jawas that are again 'too tall' (on average), because the comparison is slightly off, and 33mm really represents something more like 1.8m. Not a large difference, but my mental maths suggests around 1-2mm which on a mini 31-35mm high would make an appreciable visual difference I reckon.

all of 1 cm, so Leia must have a good idea for a man in uniform... although don't read too much into them all being clones of Jango, reading the Wookiepedia entry for Stormtroopers gives other clone templates used and normal recruitment, so they weren't all 1.8m... and you can't say that every rebel was over 1.8m or every smuggler... you have to have an average for the population and rounding up towards 2m cause they're soldiers and so would be taller (even though we know that can't be the case) means they are all getting as tall as Vader...

Perhaps it is Luke Skywalker in yet another poor disguise. A little short for a stormtrooper, a little tall for a Jawa.  ;D

The difference between 1.7m and 1.8m is 10cm (4") not 1cm.

But this is all really rather beside the point. We all agree that the original figure was too tall. Exactly how much too tall a model of an imaginary creature is compared to models of real people acting as imaginary people, is perhaps a little like arguing how many scale models of an angel can be made to dance on the end of a pin, and whether that pin is better represented at 1:50 or 1:60.

SirAlban: I like your second sculpt too.

Rivet-counters' 'Blah-blah' aside...

I really like the revised sculpt SirAlban!

If I had one modest suggestion, it would be to either add some eyes under the hood or something like goggles? Otherwise, make the hood a bit deeper so that it shades the face a bit more - like the pic that Commander Vyper posted.

Are you going to do some more to go with him? And a Sand Crawler too maybe? :P
