Searching for a mini - Help please!
« on: January 14, 2011, 04:17:44 PM »
Hi All!

I'm posting this here because I'm after a figure of a child / young boy figure, in 28-32mm scale and wearing some sort of military dress - a jacket, or a full uniform, or whatever.

I don't really mind what range or manufacturer it's from, but I would prefer a metal figure if possible.

The intended use is as a Totem for Wyrd Miniatures' game Malifaux. Other models in group look like this:

I think that getting a child model to fit this aesthetic is going to be impossible, but I'm happy to do a little converting if I can find a model close enough... And arms away from the body would be best if I need to convert it. Bare head would also be preferred as I feel it helps to emphasise that it is a child.

So your collective wisdom and knowledge would be very much appreciated - please suggest away if you have any ideas!  :D

Not bare headed, but I immediately thought of this guy from Hasslefree.

Alternatively there is the Crown Prince from Westwind's Romanov Holiday set.

But then you're buying the entire pack...

Thanks for the replies guys!

I guess that there aren't many children models wearing jackets about, huh?

So far, I think that the West Wind "Victorian Kid Victims" fella in the bottom left of the pic looks like it could be a good bet... But what sort of 'Victims' are they? Zombies or something?  ???

I had also been considering the two kids from Freebooter (the little drummer mascot in particular, but I wasn't sure how easy it'd be to re-sculpt his mouth so that it was closed...), and model from Reaper that seems to have a squire in the pack (but it isn't clear if the pack is both models or just the 'not-Joan of Arc' figure on her own).

Further comments, suggestions or advice still welcome please!  ;)

Wouldn't the Wyrd Student of Conflict figure be the obvious choice...?

Well, it would, but I don't like it much; in fact, that's the precise reason I'm searching for an alternate mini!  lol
