My American VSFers
« on: January 19, 2011, 01:08:18 AM »
Here is a sampling of my American forces

Walker

Marines

Dynamite Gun

Rocket Troopers

Negro Troopers

Teddy and his troops

We tried out the Valour, Steel and Flesh rules on the weekend.  Lots of character but we need to go through them a couple more times to get a good feel for them.

Great pulpy force.  Lots of pointing men.  I have that mech in the first picture.  Gotta paint it.  Disjointed thoughts and responses.   :)

They look even better on the battlefield. I'll have some in action shots up soon.

Excellent army!

Some very nice little touches, I'd love to have an army like this.

Yes, lots of pointing men! I can imagine my mates shouting 'They're over there' every three minutes in a bad southern Hick accent if they saw this army on the table!
It's all good and fun in VSF though! ;)

That's a great looking army you've got there. I've got one of those walkers, I think Armorcast is underrated as a source dfor VSF goodies.

Hoorah! Game into the wee early hours did we?  ;)

Don't!

Not around these parts, though I will say that 'turret' tends to find its way on to either  Wild, Wild West (Loveless) leg platforms, or some kind of tank.

I also have those rocket troopers, though there painted up closer to the Rocketman movie red. I may prefer yours.

"They look even better on the battlefield." Of that, I have no doubt.

All in all, Keith, you make me proud to be a 'merican! ;->=

Even if I am sadly lacking that southern accent...

Great looking force there old chap.

Love the rocketmen especially.

There do seem to be a lot of 'pointing chaps' though...'go west young man'?   :D

The one thing that always seems missing from American VSF forces to me are cavalry - preferable riding 'steam horses'...hehe... :D

Really looking forward to seeing them on the battlefield.

As for rules, might i suggest Rules of Engagement by Great Eascape Games?  They are WWII platoon level actions (large skirmish) and i'm finding them simple, effective, intuitive and adaptable to many different settings.

Thanks for the comments everyone

These are the USA forces.  I will also be putting together a Confederate States of America force together.  In my timeline for VSF the CSA won the War of Succession and are a separate country (a la Turtledove) - and still hostile to the USA.

I want to have a native cavalry unit riding bisons - literal Buffalo Troops.

Congratulations on the painting - you've even managed to make Tiger Miniatures figures look good!

You're getting together a nice little army there. Not enough of us collect US forces.

How about going for some 'air cavalry' - Brigade do a very nice pack of troops wearing steam jump packs (I just received mine and am in the process of assembling and head changing them).
