Another stupid idea - Scooby Doo baddies
« on: 19 January 2011, 02:46:28 PM »
Right, apologies if this is in the wrong section, please move it if it is.

A usual, my tiny speck of a butterfly mind has been ruminating on a problem and I would like advice.

A while ago, I picked up a Scooby Doo themed boardgame (essentially snakes and ladders with a cool spinny bit in the middle) and had plans to replace the cardboard counters with Hasslefree's not-Scooby Gang adventurers.

Now that HF are about to release "Hamlet", a fine looking doggie, I am much closer to achieving this.

However...

I would also like to replace the counters for the bad guys with appropriate models. The counters in the game all depict the Evil Robot:

And I was wondering if you fine fellows had any ideas for suitable proxies.

I can't find anything myself, so was thinking that I could swap them out for ghosts, werewolves etc, and would appreciate any info on suitable ones that I could get that would be:

a. Available singly
b. Not horribly expensive
c. Require no or minimal conversion

All suggestions gratefully recieved.

JB

I think that "Tommy the Wolf Man" (just out from Reaper) would make a pretty good Scooby Doo villain:

Fear and Faith could cover Scooby pretty well.  I think they even have characters done up in the rule book.

Reaper's Chronoscope might have some other good ones that fit in.  Here's another one that might work for you.

Professor Kraken

I've been working on a similar idea.  Check out Horrorclix and Dreamblade for a few cracking baddies.  Also you need to link this site:

Just need 'Hamlet' and the project begins.................................

Those are really big.  They would tower over the Hasselfree Scooby Gang.  They only came in the Fantastic Four themed starter set.  There was only two in the set.  They might not be that plentiful on the secondary market.  They do look the part though.  Here's a working picture.

Thanks everybody, some great ideas there!  :D

Looking at the Reaper stuff, I also found this:

Which would make an excellent ghost, according to the link that Sterling Moose provided.

Think I'm edging towards that and Copplestone's ghost and Mummy from the "Bad Things" set.

Its not really a ghost Bob, its the janitor in a luminous suit.

He would have gotten away with too, if it had not been for those pesky kids!!
