Dracula DVD BBC 1977 production
« on: 19 September 2007, 08:35:34 AM »
The BBC has just re-released the 1977 TV version of Dracula starring Louis Jordan and Frank Finlay again on DVD.
It is considered to be one of the closest adaptions of the novel made to date and has always received great praise from fans. Ok the effects are dated by todays standards, but the production is excellent.
I don't know how long it will be available for as the Beeb seem to release things for a limited time. So get it soon if you are interested. Mine is on order from Amazon as I type this :)
"These creatures do not die like the bee after the first sting, but go on age after age, feeding on the blood of the living"  - Abraham Van Helsing

Thanks very much for heads up.  On my wish list and will order at the end of the month
They were all drawn to the Keep; the soldiers who brought death; the father and daughter fighting for life; the people who have always feared it; and the one man who knows its secret....

I remember watching it on the Beeb as a young 16 year old. I was very impressed at the time, so will have to buy it if only to see if [like, for example, I Claudius & Led Zeppelin] it still stands the test of time.

Thanks for the "heads-up"!

Cheers,
Ian.
