Tengu Models Shoggoth
« on: 03 February 2011, 03:36:58 PM »
Here's some pics of some painted up castings of a shoggoth model I've been working on this past week. It's a resin casting and should be released sometime this weekend.

I added some tentacles from my Son of Yog-Sothoth model on the second shoggy

and a scale pic with a zombie...

Thanks for looking :)

and this model is physically more correct than others in my opinion, I always considered a shoggoth to have a high interfacial tension and therefore more of a bubble shape (assuming that our physics apply to them in our world...)

This is the most realistic shoggoth I've ever seen! Very good work with that.

My two (minor) complaints are that I'd have liked the orificies to be more mouth-like. Also, I think it should be bigger. I know that mini is big, yet a shoggoth as described by H.P.L. is massive:
Quote
It was a terrible, indescribable thing vaster than any subway train—a shapeless congeries of protoplasmic bubbles, faintly self-luminous, and with myriads of temporary eyes forming and un-forming as pustules of greenish light all over the tunnel-filling front that bore down upon us, crushing the frantic penguins and slithering over the glistening floor that it and its kind had swept so evilly free of all litter.
Although I understand the problems with very big minis, that have a high production cost that induces a high price tag, which puts sales at risk. :?

By the way, I too vote for a shoggoth+tentacles bundle.
